Valentines

Hey everyone!
With all of this valentine cheer going around, it reminds me that Love is really what encompasses our world. It says in 1st Corinthians 13, the last verse ... "And now these three remain, faith, hope, and love, but the greatest of these is Love." Love is everywhere, whether it is Love of a good thing or a bad. if you sin, you love that sin, or you love something that caused you to sin. For example, if you steal a car, then you have a great love of that car. Everything is caused by love, as Dante would say also. Love encompesas our reality, it is in us, and outside of us, constantly at work, constantly in work.

Also, this week, it has reminded me that Jesus says" Love the Lord your God with all of your heart soul, and mind" and also "Love your neighbor as your self" the action being "LOVE" in both of those. Love is a big concept and it ecomes bigger and harder to underestand when you speak English, for we use love everywhere... I love God, I love french fries. They are definitly NOT the same kind of love, but they have the same word, and that can create some difficutlies. It helps when you talk about the different types of love, such as Phileo love, etc. but it is a hard concept. With this I leave you, that you might think about this in the upcoming week! Have a good weeek everyone one! God Bless!.

  1. Your post was very interesting. You are right in the fact that there are several different types of love as mentioned in the greek: friendship/brotherly love (phileo), passionate love (eros), and agape (unconditional). I understand your point in that the English "love" does seem to "encompass our world". Our challenge then is to discern what type of "love" we're living by or for, and seek to conform our actions and intents to God's definition of love, which He acted out with passion in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. God Bless you Daddy's Lil Girl!
